GHOST preprint: ecological evolution and lived individuality.

Second GHOST paper: ecological selection enriches inherited capacity for causal lived individuality via HabitLearner plasticity—preregistered and independently audited.

Research Note Jul 17, 2026 GHOST

This preprint continues the GHOST program as a separate manuscript from the foraging-competence ecological-selection paper. It reports a governed sequence linking ecological competence gains, lifetime HabitLearner individuality, heritable plasticity parameters, and a culminating preregistered assay of selected genotype distributions.

The bounded certified claim: ecological selection on frozen standing heritable variation enriched genotype distributions with greater inherited capacity for causal, durable, adaptive lived individuality through a preexisting HabitLearner. HabitLearner was hand-authored; evolution selected parameters governing its operation and did not invent the learner.
